About Us

The NBCR is organized into four core Technology Research and Development (TR&D) thrusts. Three areas are centered on the interface between scales:

  • Core 1: atomic to subcellular
  • Core 2: subcellular to cell
  • Core 3: cell to tissue and organ

Core 4 focuses on practical cyberinfrastructure, which unites the many requisite elements for computing – workflows, graphical user interfaces, cyberinfrastructure research, and software engineering. These elements, collectively, provide a framework to enable routine and effective use of ubiquitous and increasingly diverse computational and data architectures.

The PI and Director of NBCR is Dr. Rommie Amaro, a computational chemist at UC San Diego.
